How to Create a Relationship with Your Soul

How do you create a working relationship with your Soul, your own higher consciousness?
Start a dialogue, even if you don’t hear or sense a response, speak out loud anyway! Speak your intention, you desire, what is bothering you. Be real, share anything, even if you are angry, let it be spoken! Your higher consciousness already knows. It is waiting for you to open the door to communication.
The passion you feel is from your higher consciousness. It is the vehicle to feed you guidance. But be conscious, discern authentic passion from desperation. Sense, is it pure, coming from joy, from a place of truly wanting what is best for yourself? Or is it compulsion, a desperate need to make yourself feel safe? Allow yourself to discover the truth. This isn’t about being right or the wrong, it`s about freedom.
If you live life from push, you get one result. I know, I lived that way for most of my life. But when I began to examine where my emotions came from, I began to discern how to help me.
One of the biggest obstacles most people have to overcome is they resist the idea that they are the creator in every area of their life. They like the idea that they are a victim to the government, their parents, their job, their spouse, their children, etc. The victim story can unfold in infinite ways. But when you truly hunger to set yourself free from the energy of fear and the limitation that your mind sets up, you begin to know authentic choice from fearful push.
Many times, when I faltered and felt that I could not take another breath, that I couldn’t face another brutal truth about what I had lived, or what I had done; I told my Soul out loud, “Fill me with the passion, the willingness, the strength to face this! I cannot do it alone!” And every time, my Soul filled me with what I needed. It may not have been in that instant, but my choice was always honoured.
Some people have read my memoir, I Am Serena, and said that it seemed like it was easy for me to integrate and heal. That statement always amazes me. Sometimes it was literally a breath at a time, because the fear that engulfed me seemed to wipe out everything that I understood or knew. The degree of commitment it required from me to integrate was massive! It was a daily choice, but that choice layered itself one on top of the other feeding me real, lived experiences. Those experiences are my strength. It is the trust that I feel in my belly, enabling me to face life whatever the challenge is.
This journey of discovering who you truly are is not for most people. That’s just the truth. Most would prefer to stay in a state of semi-unconsciousness because that seems to be more comfortable. Becoming fully present means you will feel discomfort, you will feel pain, you will have to stand still in the face of your fears without running. That is truth. I often wonder if my life had not been so horrible, so drastically dark, would I have had the stamina, the commitment I had to face it all? My life being so outrageously painful is what motivated me to find an answer outside of that way I was living.
To live fully present in each moment, responding, and not reacting to whatever life brings you is sweet. It`s the payoff for taking this journey. When you can be in peace, surrendering whatever the outcome of a situation is to your Soul because you trust that Beingness more than anything else, you have peace. True, authentic peace.
The person I was when I began my healing journey with Norma Delaney in 1996 no longer exists. The woman I am today, living in Portugal is different than the woman that left Colorado in 2023. She no longer exists. I am constantly evolving, discovering the more of who I truly Am. It is an adventure of boundless possibilities!
Knowing I Am my Divine Essence fills me with strength in some of the most difficult times. It allows me to step out of the energy of fear and witness the emotion without becoming it. That moment of consciousness allows me to make a choice that helps me. That’s what Being a Master is all about.
If this resonates with you; makes you hungry to discover who you are, then start by speaking out loud to your Soul. Ask your Soul to walk with you in every moment. Ask your Soul, “What do you want to eat, what do you want to wear?” Make it a game, play and notice when you’re doing it from desperation. And if you are, don`t judge yourself, instead, take a breath and give the desperation to your Soul. Visualize handing a bucket filled with your desperation, off to your Soul. Then take another breath, and let go.
Remember, this is a journey; in truth you already are your Soul, you just forgot that.
